Trade workers are easy to find in Panama — and the rates will make you smile after years of NZ tradesman pricing.

The normal fee rate is around $50 to $70 USD per day depending on qualifications. An electrician will charge slightly more than the garden maintenance crew, but the difference is modest by any standard. Most tradesmen work labour only, so be prepared to obtain the materials yourself. Most will give you a list of materials required and accompany you to get them if need be. We use Cochez for most materials as they have a good discounting system off their already tight pricing.

This pair are straight-up honest individuals who can help with most requested work. Antonio has built a crew of reputable people. Antonio does garden and house external maintenance in the Coronado area (further afield by arrangement — as long as a bus goes past the property he will quote you).

Johnathon operates a plant motel on Via Punta Barco with his Mum, where expats wanting to keep their plants in good health while they are away can drop the pot plants off to their sheltered pot plant area and they will care for them for a small weekly fee. It is an all care, no responsibility situation. But as he says: as long as you give them regular care, pot plants will keep on growing. It is a way better option than leaving them to die of thirst in your condo.

Johnathon also has excellent advanced computer skills, so if you are having issues with your computer his rates are at the lower end of the scale. Setting up your internet and WiFi systems are also within his skillset.
